Microfiber is manufactured by splitting polyester and polyamide fibers into smaller, thinner pieces of fiber so that they’re able to penetrate and clean the pores of surfaces. Microfiber also picks up spills and dirt better than other materials, absorbing up to 5 times its own weight in liquids.

Want to get rid of water stains and mineral rings in your toilet bowl but don’t want to touch a wet, dirty toilet brush?

The smartest thing would be to hire a new york city commercial cleaning company to take care of all your restroom cleaning needs… but, if you’d like to do it on your own here’s an easy solution:

1. Purchase a Magic Eraser, either the name brand, generic, or “imperfect”, it doesn’t matter.

2. Use scissors and cut off a strip of magic eraser about 1” thick.

3. Before you go to sleep, drop the magic eraser in the toilet bowl and when you wake up in the morning, the rings and stains will be gone.

Combine 4 parts hydrogen peroxide and 1 part lemon juice to create a non-toxic bleach subsitute that will kill germs and deodorize floors.

Purchase hydrogen peroxide from Costco for two 32-oz bottles for $1.99 and a 32-oz bottle of lemon juice from any supermarket for less than $3.00.  Bleach is generally one gallon for $2.50, so in the end you are paying practically the same price.

Our brooklyn office cleaning company has used this substitute for many new york city office cleaning clients who used to clean with bleach and have now made the transition to eco-friendly products.  They all wish they made the change sooner!

As a Brooklyn green cleaning company, we advise our clients to engage in easy, green ways to maintain their office space.

1. Use coasters at your desk to prevent permanent coffee cup rings in your work space.  Wash coasters with soap and water every 2 weeks.

2. How dirty are your office kitchen sponges?  A fast and easy way to kill bacteria and sanitize sponges is to microwave them in a bowl or cup of water for 2 minutes.  Can’t we just throw them in the dishwasher?  This will clean them from dirt and grease, but will not kill germs and bacteria that live in dirty sponges.  Caution: be careful when removing the sponge it will be hot.

3. Bad smells in the office?  Lots of settled dust?  Open your windows daily to let natural winds and breezes work for you.  Winds will push out the stagnant, stale air and refresh your work space.  Breezes will naturally clump together loose dust into dust bunnies making your cleaning job easier.

4. Always use mats, rugs, grates and grilles at your office.  Most of the dirt found inside a building is tracked in from the outside on your shoes.  Grates and grills on the exterior will knock off large debris, while rugs and mats on the inside will collect dirt and grime.  Instead of vacuuming every inch of floor space in your office, you will be able to focus your efforts on the rugs and carpets that have collected most of the dirt.

5. One of the most convenient ways for many offices is to hire a green office cleaning service to maintain your commercial environment.  Our company uses green certified products, eco-friendly materials and supplies, and environmentally preferable equipment.
